About St. John Warmbloods
Son of our Savannah, SPINNAKER CONTINUES HIS WINNING WAYS AT INTERMEDIARE I. This summer he and his owner, junior rider Mehgan Slaughter, were successful in shows and won a place on the region 6 Jr FEI team. In 2004, in open USDF competition, Spinnaker was a top horse at Intermediare I with a median score of 64.5%. Spinnaker is now 18 years old and sound of limb. His full sister is our mare Sevilla, dam of Superstitious and Social Grace and granddam of Sport Royal: Firenze, Chaminade, "Fabio" and "Dos". Congratulations, Mehgan!
At St John Warmbloods we have already produced outstanding performers in competition. Our mares have excellent bloodlines and are bred to a variety of top stallions:
- Spinnaker out of our mare Savannah, had a median score of 64.5% at USDF Intermediare I at 10 years old.
- Serralinde out of our mare Sevilla, scored over 60% at USDF 4th level at 7 years old.
- Strieste's sire is on the 2005 USDF Grand Prix Horse-of-the-Year list.
- Sevilla's (dam of Social Grace, Snapee Dressur, Strieste, Superstitious)
3/4 brother, Kostolany is represented at the World Cup for Dressage April 2007 by his son Gribaldi (also a sire of more than 3000 Dutch Warmbloods) and his granddaughter Blue Hors Matine. The breeding line of Mahagoni-Enrico Caruso-Kostolany-Gribaldi has become among the best in sport horses. Blood breeds true. - Leonidas (sire of Sierra Mardel and Sza Sza Chanteuse) is the top U.S.sire
of USDF Horse-of-the-Year award winners.
At St. John Warmbloods we imprint all the foals which makes them more friendly and trainable. We feed the mares in their last 100 days of pregnancy a copper, zinc and manganese supplement which helps prevent osteochondritis dessicans (developmental orthopedic disease).
